Uber driver robbed, carjacked at gunpoint on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WJBK) - An Uber driver was robbed and carjacked at gunpoint on Detroit's west side.

The driver picked up a man around 4 a.m. Sunday in the area of Schoolcraft and Schaefer.

Police said the man then pointed a gun at the driver and demanded he drive to an ATM to withdraw money.

The driver wrestled the gun away from the thief, but the man drove off in the Lincoln Navigator and an unknown amount of cash.

The victim was not hurt in the incident.
