Vigil held for 'vibrant soul' Kajavia Globe

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Something happened to Kajavia Globe and Friday night her friends and family demanded answers.

They gathered again tonight to remember the vibrant young woman gone too soon.

Police are waiting on toxicology reports that in hopes that will give them a better idea of what happened between Kajavia Globe going missing Friday and investigators finding her body on Monday.

That could take at least two weeks. In the meantime those who knew her are saying their farewells.

"It's never easy to lose someone you spend so much time with," said one friend.

It was no different for Kajavia Globe's coworkers at the Minacs call center in Farmington Hills. They held a vigil Friday standing in the same spot Kajavia used to park every day.

"She's always had this vibrant spirit about her," said Stanetta Jones. "Her personality was just always overwhelming."

Jones was Kajavia's manager and friend. Their relationship dating back to when they were kids.

"Managing her on a professional note and knowing her on a personal note, it was difficult," Jones said. "But at the same time I could see her grow into this young child that I knew into a wonderful young woman."

Kajavia Globe was last seen last Friday afternoon. Her co-workers threw her a going away party earlier that day.

She had just got a promotion and was moving to another department.

"On her desk she wrote goodbye letting us know we were going to see her again," Jones said.

Sadly they would not.

Detroit police found Kajavia's body behind a house on fielding just south of Seven Mile. There were no obvious signs of trauma and the medical examiner has yet to determine how she died.

Police released pictures of a masked man in Kajavia's car taking money out of her account at the Fifth Third bank branch on Seven Mile and Telegraph. It is the only solid lead thus far in the investigation.

They are praying for justice and Saturday a number of concerned young women in Detroit will march for it.

They are meeting up at Seven Mile and Evergreen a few blocks away from where Kajavia's body was found.
