The first of two congressional hearings on the water crisis in Flint, Michigan was Tuesday, and a former local official took the oath.

Darnell Earley the state-appointed emergency manager who oversaw Flint, Michigan when its water source was switched to the Flint River, says in prepared testimony he was "grossly misled" by state and federal experts who never told him that lead was leaching into the city's water supply. You can read more about that here.

FOX 2 livestreamed the hearing here. Click here to watch it.

Testifying in today's hearing, in addition to Earley, were Susan Hedman, Former administrator with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Dayne Walling, the former mayor of Flint; and Marc Edwards, Professor of Environmental and Water Engineering with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

The second hearing will be on Thursday, March 17. Gov. Rick Snyder and Gina McCarthy, an administrator with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, are due to testify at that one. FOX 2 will also make a livestream available of that hearing.
