100.3 WNIC flips the Christmas music switch

It's official -- the Christmas music switch has been flipped on 100.3 WNIC.

Jay Towers and his crew flipped the switch just around 8:35 a.m. Monday, November 2. The first song that played was Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

"Every year the debate always comes up, do we go a little earlier this year? Do we go a little later? And you always upset one side," Jay said. "But I will tell you, the people that want it are definitely are overwhelming."

Many stores have already begun setting up their holiday displays as well.

The big question though, now that we're thinking about Christmas, is whether or not it will be a snowy one. Jay called FOX 2's Derek Kevra into the studio to get his forecast.

"So this is a two-month forecast, which, you know, we're historically very good at," Derek joked. "The climate predictions center released their three-month forecast and they said that December and January look warmer than average, and dryer that average. So, for a white Christmas, I'd say the odds are low but I am optimistic."

"That sounds horrible," Jay said. "Lie to us next time!"
