Several community organizations come together to provide meals to the homeless.

Thousands of meals were passed out at the Bowen Center Sunday. The annual event is growing every year.  It’s an assembly line of people bagging meals, one person makes the sandwich, someone else bags it then a runner takes it to the fruit table and so on. There is also a large table of kids making hand written notes to go in every bag.

"We started out with 800 meals, it went up to 1000, then 1500, then 2000, then 2500 and now 3000, and that’s what it’s about it's beautiful, it's growth," Kaino Phillips said.

This group helps the homeless year round but says this is a time to step up during the holidays.
