Drowsy drivers cause nearly a quarter of fatal crashes

Feeling tired and sleep deprived? AA has issued a new warning about the dangers of getting behind the wheel.

According to AAA, drowsy drivers are involved in 21 percent of fatal crashes every year.

Thirty-seven percent of drivers admit to falling asleep behind the wheel at some point, and 11 percent report falling asleep in the driver's seat within the past year.

AAA is urging extra caution now that we've just switched over to Daylight Saving Time. It's during that first week that "springing ahead" leads to many people feeling tired.
