Man in court, accused of stabbing woman to death in Hazel Park home

A Hazel Park man accused of stabbing the mother of his children to death appeared in court Tuesday.

Police said 36-year-old Benjamin Wozniak is accused of stabbing 37-year-old Natalie Urso to death in the late hours of January 10 outside her home in the 2300 block of Hughes.

Investigators say he was the father of her children and they still had some sort of relationship. Meanwhile Wozniak's girlfriend, Tonya Crosslin, testified that she took him to Urso's house to get some of his belongings. When he got back into the car:

"I glanced over and I seen blood all over Ben's hands," she said. "Rubbing them together."

She said she called 911 when they got back to her house in Centerline.

"There shouldn't have been blood on Ben's hands," she said.

After police arrested Wozniak, he told detectives that he and the victim had been arguing the day of the murder. He said it was obvious what he had done and that Urso said she loved him before she took her final breath.

Charged with first degree murder, Wozniak could spend the rest of his life behind bars if he's convicted. He is currently locked up in Oakland County Jail.
