Is wheat grass juice all it's cracked up to be?
Supporters say drinking it can help treat all types of ailments including cancer, anemia, diabetes, constipation, infections, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis and joint pain.
However, according to the Mayo Clinic's website, it says there are few research studies about wheat grass, so it's difficult to assess the health claims.
Cardiologist, Dr. Joel Kahn says there have been studies to support that wheat grass juice might benefit people with inflammatory bowel disease. He discusses it in his latest blog and on The Nine Tuesday. He's also hosting a happy hour Tuesday afternoon at his GreenSpace Cafe in Ferndale, which benefits Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.
