A Warren man trying to cross Van Dyke against the walk signal died after he was hit by a pickup truck Sunday night, Sterling Heights police said.

Allen Road grade separation construction starts Monday

Allen Road will close north of Van Horn and south of West Road in Woodhaven as the grade separation for the train tracks is built starting March 23.  For decades, trains entering the Canadian National Flat Rock Yard have created frequent, lengthy blockages at the Allen Road crossing that disrupt Woodhaven traffic — sometimes lasting 45 minutes or more, with one 2014 instance exceeding six hours. This project will create a smooth, uninterrupted flow of traffic and eliminate dangerous, unpredictable backups.

The affected fuel was purchased between 6 a.m. March 17 and 1 p.m. March 19 at the location on South Groesbeck Highway. It’s been six years since Steven Radcliff was killed. His family is still seeking answers. It was the early morning of March 17, 2020. Steven Radcliff, 27, was crossing the street in the area of Dequindre and East Robinhood, when a vehicle fatally struck him. Police later put out a description of that vehicle, a 2011-2012 white Ford Escape. Evandrea, Radcliff’s daughter, was only one-year-old when he died. And she, her family, still don’t have the answers they so desperately want and need. Radcliff’s mother, Beverly Winfrey, won’t stop putting up flyers and billboards and doing these kinds of interviews in the hope that someone will set aside fear or guilt to tell investigators what they know about the case. Fourth suspected measles case in Washtenaw County

Washtenaw County Health Department is reporting a fourth suspect case of measles in Washtenaw County and announcing new exposure locations related to this case. The new suspect case was a close contact of the first case announced March 11. This suspect case has symptoms consistent with measles and known exposure, but measles has not yet been confirmed with laboratory testing. “There is a limited time after a potential measles exposure when we can offer vaccine or medication to prevent infection,” says Juan Luis Marquez, MD, MPH, medical director with Washtenaw County Health Department. “We are announcing this suspect case immediately because the last day for exposed infants and pregnant or immunocompromised individuals to receive preventative IG treatment is Monday.” The measles virus can live for up to two hours in the air.
