A man has been barricaded inside an Ypsilanti home after allegedly trying to break into a neighbor's home with what police described as a stick. The man then allegedly charged at police with the stick and a knife before locking himself in the home.

Neighbors say a person barricaded inside an Ypsilanti home for hours was armed with a sword when the situation began Sunday. Few details are known, but it may have stemmed from a neighbor dispute. 

A barricaded situation has been ongoing since Sunday afternoon on Cross Street in Ypsilanti. 

Allen Park police officers were dispatched to the area of Southfield Road near Roger Avenue for a suicidal man Sunday afternoon. Officers responding to the area were advised the subject was carrying a box cutter-style knife and was threatening his life by putting the knife up to his throat. What we know: Lincoln Park officers were called to the 14800 block of Southfield Road in Allen Park to assist their officers. During that altercation, multiple videos show the man lunging toward police before multiple gunshots can be heard. Officers first used a taser, which did not stop the man, and then were forced to use guns when he became aggressive, according to the Allen Park Police Department. Officers continued to give the subject loud verbal commands to drop the knife after he was tased. The commands were ignored by the subject and he began approaching the officers in an aggressive manner. The man, a 36-year-old Lincoln Park resident, then began walking towards the entrance of the Arby’s restaurant still holding the knife. Officers again attempted to use less lethal force and a less lethal shotgun round was fired at the subject. This also failed to stop him. An officer then fired his duty weapon, shooting the subject in his arm.

While assisting the Allen Park Police on a call, an officer from the Lincoln Park Police Department shot a suspect in the 14800 block of Southfield Road shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday.  Police say the man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The Michigan State Police Department was called in to investigate.

Out on bond, a bond of $3,500, is 40-year-old Ryan Turner, the DoorDash driver who allegedly delivered the blow, causing Lloyd to fall and hit his head. The incident happened in a Wixom neighborhood on Sunday.
