Meece was convicted of criminal sexual conduct in 1991, which was then deemed a tier-three sex offender. But when paroled in 1999, Meece failed to register and took off.

For the past two decades, James Meece has been in hiding after disappearing while on parole for sexually assaulting two girls, 9 and 12. Now the U.S. Marshals say he's done hiding and is now in custody.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 cash reward to find the person responsible for the death of Demetrius Jackson. 

James William Meece was born in northern Kentucky moved to Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the late 1980s, but he already had a criminal record.
