Tough Thursday afternoon and evening commute is expected in Metro Detroit. Rain this evening will last through Thursday morning. Flooding is possible. By mid to late morning, though a lull is possible, light freezing rain and sleet is expected before we see a transition to all snowfall Thursday afternoon, evening and overnight. In total, 0.01 to 0.05" of ice is possible with snowfall totals ranging between 4" to 8" by Thursday night into early Friday.

Snowfall totals should range between a coating to 1"+ with isolated higher amounts. Most of this snow should fall during the Super Bowl, so be careful as you are heading from from any Super Bowl parties you may be attending.
