Jahmyr Gibbs ran three touchdowns, the last a 13-yarder with 2:19 left that sealed the Lions much-needed 44-30 win over the Cowboys on Thursday night. The Lions (8-5) avoided losing consecutive games for the first time in more than three years as they seek to move into position for a playoff berth with a month remaining in the regular season.

The Lions scored on the first drive of the game, and never looked back as they cruised to a 14-point victory on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. The game was a battle between the two of the highest scoring offenses in the league; Dallas averaged 29.3 points a game and Detroit 29.2 coming into play. They were ranked second and third in points per game prior to this one. Indianapolis is the top scoring team at 29.8 points per game. Jahmyr Gibbs put up with three rushing touchdowns and had over 100 yards combined rushing and receiving. Up next Cowboys: Host Minnesota in prime time on Dec. 14. The Detroit Lions, in what many perceived as a must-win game, came out strong and led the entire way Thursday night, but that doesn't mean it was an easy win. Dallas scored a touchdown and 2-point conversion late in the fourth quarter to pull to within 30-27 with just under 10 minutes to play. Detroit answered back though, scoring two more touchdowns as they won by a final of 44-30.
