Troy rooted startup Slate Auto is making big waves with their new EV starting at under $25K. 

This all happened at the American Islamic Community Center on Dequindre Road in Madison Heights. There were at least two threatening messages left for the leadership of this religious and cultural center this past Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the southern half of Michigan's Lower Peninsula that will begin Tuesday afternoon and extend through Thursday. Over that time, daytime high temperatures will extend into the upper 90s. It will feel like 105+ degrees for those that are counting, thanks to humidity.  The danger will compound because the daily low temperatures will still sit in the mid-to-upper 70s. That prevents one's body from cooling down enough that after a hot day it can recover.

Hours before Terrion Arnold was released by the Lions, he was released on bond in a Florida court in his armed robbery and kidnapping case. His high profile came into play when the judge spoke about a lack of an ankle monitor.

The four-year contract expires Tuesday, and Detroit police are pushing for an extension. Police say ShotSpotter technology allows them to do their jobs better, collect more evidence, and respond to scenes faster.  Detroit police have made it clear they often don't get 911 calls.

Sunday around 7 p.m., a home exploded after Livonia police say 61-year-old Roger Zebrowski cut gas lines. But while the Livonia Fire Department was putting out the fire, Roger was hiding in bushes in the backyard. After he refused to cooperate with police, shots were fired, and Roger died. Neighbors who knew him were shocked.

Firefighters responded to a call about many feral cats and a foul smell at a Redford Township home on Thursday. They found the homeowner and took him to the hospital. The home has been airing out since then.

It's going to be a scorcher this week with daily temperatures nearing the hundred degree mark in some areas. Without preparation, serious emergencies can follow.

Former Lions first round pick Terrion Arnold was released Monday just hours after a Florida court released him on $1 million bond.
