A water main break in Novi has caused a boil water advisory while much of the city is without water Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado had touched down in Union City.  Meanwhile, the Branch County Sheriff says three people are dead and twelve others are injured after an apparent tornado went through Union City. One other is dead in Cass County.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning in the area as warmer temperatures and windy weather moved across Michigan.  The area impacted as of 4:20 p.m. was northeastern St. Joseph and northwestern Branch counties. At 4:18 p.m., the NWS said a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Colon, 14 miles east of Three Rivers, moving northeast. Officials say to look out for quarter-size hail and flying debris. People in the area have been told to take shelter in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor.

Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore accepted a plea deal in court on Friday.

Families gathered at Ferndale High School to take advantage of an event connecting them with a Michigan State ID on Friday. 

In exchange for the dismissal of three charges against Moore, he agreed to plead no contest to two misdemeanors.

Officials in Grosse Pointe Woods are investigating after a man was shot by a security guard at Henry Ford St. John Hospital.
