A woman and baby are hospitalized but stable after someone fired shots into a Detroit home early Christmas Eve, striking them. The shooter is not in custody, but police are currently working to find them.

Knowledge of the letter Jeffrey Epstein allegedly penned to Larry Nassar is not new. In 2019, it was "returned to sender" at the prison where Epstein was held, because of a wrong address. The document was examined by prison staff and a chain of custody documents released by the Bureau of Prisons shows the document was received at that prison, on the specific date and time in question, and was found in the mail room.

C3 Industries Inc. plans to close its Webberville facility in February. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the state, 62 workers will be impacted by this closure. The company cited both the wholesale tax and oversupply as reasons for closing, saying that these factors "have rendered this facility economically unviable."

He plans to run for Michigan governor as an independent in the 2026 midterms.  The Detroit mayor hosted his final press conference and was asked questions as his final week in office approached. He was asked if he would consider eliminating the city income tax.
