One of the state's political pollsters says that it is a move that will keep Democrats up at night - with big political implications.

As UAW members strike in the U.S., Canadian Ford employees are on the verge of striking.

The incident happened on the city's east side at State Fair near Gratiot where video shows multiple officers from DPD's 9th Precinct attempt to arrest the 34-year-old man.

In a new Facebook video posted Monday, UAW President Shawn Fain said that if “serious progress" is not made, more Locals at plants will be called on to walk out.

"Combustible means it could blow up," he said. "American consumers have lots of alternatives here. Alternatives built in Georgia, Alabama, Texas and California by non-union assembly plants like Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Tesla."

On Sunday he posted: "The United Autoworkers are being sold down the 'drain' with this all Electric Car SCAM. They'll be made in China, under crooked Joe's CHINA FIRST POLICY. "

The UAW is on strike while demanding pay increases, protection from inflation, and more. Here's what Detroit's Big Three have offered to the union, so far.

As the UAW enters the fourth day of striking, President Joe Biden plans to send White House officials to Michigan to help with negotiations between the union and Big Three.

“Here is another driver, possibly impaired, driving at a high rate of speed. It puts all of us in danger and is preventable," said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw.

Police say the circumstances of this incident are still under investigation.

"To see the support we’re getting from the community riding by (feels good)," said Melissa Wallace. "I am a proud member of Local 600, Dearborn Truck Plant. I came out here to support my brothers and sisters over here at Local 900 and it means everything."

“Everybody’s trying to make things better for us so that we can have a legacy for our children, so we’re ready to do what it takes which is Stand Up and wait for something better that we deserve," he said.

The evening remained peaceful however, with two huge-scale events event happening just feet away. Evening gowns and tuxedos walked past picket signs downtown.
