The wind chill will make it feel like winter this morning. Clouds are also expected to fill in early before clearing out in the afternoon.

The midweek cooldown will end Wednesday, meaning the next two days will be on the colder side before temperatures lift back up. Most places that could get snow will be to the north.

This weekend's warmth will be replaced by some falling temperatures and rain in the first half of the week before things recover and start to climb in the second half.

Temperatures Saturday will rise 17 degrees above average, about 78. The day may start with lingering showers before 7 a.m., then decreasing clouds and breezy conditions.

Residents still managing the fallout from last year's flood event are already worried about what this year's storms could bring. Detroit hopes its basement protection program will help alleviate some of those worries.

Friday will have some sun in the morning before primarily cloud cover in the afternoon and evening. Chances for rain become more likely by tonight.

The temperature shifts over Metro Detroit into the weekend will be a bit dramatic, climbing and falling some 20 degrees over the next few days. Rain is expected to come with the changes.
