Ford to close Romeo plant under new UAW deal, 600 jobs would move to Van Dyke transmission plant

A Michigan engine plant will close as part of the tentative deal between Ford and the UAW. Under the current proposed agreement between the automaker and the union, Ford would shutter an engine plant in Romeo, which employs 600 workers.

UAW and Ford Motor Co. reach tentative agreement

The United Auto Workers Union and Ford Motor Company have reached a tentative agreement, the union said in a release Wednesday night.

Ford's profits fall almost 60 percent during third quarter

Ford Motor Co.'s third-quarter net income tumbled nearly 60% as the company booked $1.5 billion in charges mainly for restructuring, and Chinese and U.S. sales fell. The Dearborn, Michigan, automaker knocked a half-billion dollars off its pretax earnings guidance for the full year. Ford now says it will make $6.5 billion to $7 billion.
