Just before the sky lit up at 10 p.m. for the 2025 Detroit Fireworks, people were scrambling to get away from a commotion that occurred at Larned and Randolph Streets, just blocks away from Hart Plaza, sources tell FOX 2.

New video in deadly police vehicle crash

Hayden was driving a Dodge Durango with Pettis as a passenger around 5 a.m. the morning of the crash. As he turned left onto Prospect from Schoenherr, Hayden's vehicle was struck by a Warren patrol vehicle that was traveling on Schoenherr. Police dashcam video showed that the officer who was driving, James Burke, was traveling 116 mph before the crash. That area of Schoenherr is a 40 mph zone. Security video showed that the patrol vehicle's emergency lights were not activated at the time.

Wayne church shooting suspect debated with pastor before attacking

Months before 31-year-old Brian Browning attacked a religious ceremony in the community of Wayne, he had visited the CrossPointe Community Church to debate with the pastor. The Romulus man had intended to carry out a mass shooting at the church on Sunday morning. Armed with an AR-15-style rifle and 500 rounds of ammunition, he opened fire at the church before being run over by a truck driven by one of the parishioners. A security guard fatally shot him afterward.

Former EMU officer charged in concealing camera case

The former officer for EMU allegedly hid a camera in the hotel room of a co-worker during a police union conference in Grand Rapids last January. Police say a camera was also placed in the locker room at the EMU Police Department.
