Historic church in Taylor's Heritage Park suffers major fire damage

It is unclear what the extent of the fire was, but the front of the church, originally built in 1882 by German Settlers, showed external damage. The church was dubbed West Mound, originally built on a small hill west of Wyandotte.

Westland police looking for driver who hit and killed woman on Van Born

The crash happened on Van Born Road at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday April 29. The woman, from Taylor was riding her bicycle west of Farnum when he was struck by the driver who then drove off.
