Warren police arrest suspect believed to have murdered a 6-year-old boy and a woman in an exeuction-style killing on Oct. 1.

A family is in shock, after their loved one, Kenya Goodman Simmons, was murdered in a gas station parking lot Saturday night at 9 Mile and Hoover in Warren. 

Sources say a person of interest is in custody in connection to the execution of a 6-year-old boy in Warren last week.

Pastor Smith of New Life Family Church in Detroit is doubling the pot to $12,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever's responsible for the killing of six-year-old Tai'rez Moore.

Christian Mathis, also known as Trick Trick, is putting up cold hard cash to find the person or persons responsible for the death of 6-year-old Tai'rez Moore, even urging gangsters to find the boy's killer.

Warren police are working with Detroit police calling the act, truly evil. Warren police discovered the bodies of Tai'raz and his father's 28-year-old girlfriend Isis Rimson in the basement of their home on Otis Street Thursday morning.

In a news conference Friday, Warren police commissioner said only a 'monster' or 'godless creature' would pull the trigger on a 6-year-old boy.

Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said he intends to ask federal authorities to get involved in the investigation of the execution of a 6-year-old boy so that the death penalty can be sought.

Investigators say the tragedy is linked to the murder of the boy's father, found dead in a burned up car on Detroit's east side early Thursday morning. He was also the boyfriend of the young woman who was killed. 

Warren police are investigating a double homicide Thursday morning, Oct. 1, 2020 in the 2000 block of Otis Avenue, which is near 9 Mile and Dequindre roads.

The 24-year-old Warren man was arraigned on nine counts - eight of them felonies. The charges include ethnic intimidation, weapons charges and malicious destruction of property over a Black Lives Matter sign.

Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said around 9 p.m.Tuesday the girlfriend of a 32-year-old man called 911. Apparently, he had just gotten home from picking up his son from football, when someone knocked at their door.

Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer announced nine charges, eight of them felonies, against a 24-year-old man suspected of intimidating a Black couple. The suspect will be arraigned Thursday morning.

Warren police are investigating a suspected murder after finding a man with five gunshot wounds dead in his driveway late Tuesday night.

A series of escalating incidents happened at the house on Tallman Avenue, including vandalism to gunshots being fired at the home over a course of a few days earlier this month.

Demonstrators from several organizations, including “Detroit Will Breathe” and “Michigan Liberation”, joined together Saturday to stand against what Candace and Eddie Hall endured at their Warren home. 

Tanaya Lewis, a former student at Warren Fitzgerald High School, was sentenced to 27-60 years in prison for the murder of a 16-year-old classmate, Danyna Gibson.
